Critical Elements AnalysisCritical Elements AnalysisNevada Reading First offers schools and districts a tool for evaluating core reading programs, including program materials, essential literacy elements, content, text structure, illustrations, assessment, and grouping. Schools and districts who are considering adopting new programs, or already have programs in place, can use Critical Elements Analysis to determine if the program is a good match for the students, identify strengths and weaknesses, determine what materials and instructional procedures will need to be added to the program, and weed out materials and instructional procedures that are not evidence based. The following resources are provided by the U.S. Department of Education’s First Annual National Reading First Conference. |
