Assessment System

Providing Assessment Data to Schools (format, access, customizability)

A. Report assessment data is in digital form, and is disaggregated by ethnicity, gender, SES, SpEd.  Analysis included. Schools can "manipulate" and request customized reports.  B. Reporting Data is available in digital form, and is disaggregated and understandable. Schools can "manipulate" data on their own. C.  Data is reported to school in standard format (hard copy). Reports are extensive and exhaustive. Access to digital reports only at central office. D. Individual school reports school in standard format (hard copy). E. One report for the whole district. Schools must find their own data from the document.

Facilitating and supporting instructional decision making in literacy. (form, frequency, focus)

A. Ongoing assistance in analyzing and using literacy data for decision making. Personnel train and provide technical assistance to school improvement teams. Convening meetings of principals and SIP teams.

Example: Charts & graphs are provided electronically as well as templates for narrative.

B. Scheduled assistance in analyzing and using literacy data.  Personnel train and provide technical assistance to principals only.  Focus on using data to make literacy and improvement decisions.

Example: Charts & graphs are provided electronically.

C. Data is provided along with charts & graphs are provided electronically as well as templates for narrative.  One shot technical assistance. D. Technical assistance limited to orientation to report.  Principals are expected to analyze data on their own.  Technical assistance provided by request only. E. No articulation of how data is to be used.

No training or technical assistance in use of data.
