Innovation Configuration MapsUnder the guidance of Gene Hall from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Nevada Reading First is developing a vision for effective system-wide support for literacy through Innovation Configuration Mapping Like a road map that shows different ways of getting from one place to another, an innovation configuration map identifies major components of an innovation and then describes the observable variations of each component. Nevada Reading First maps will provide developed descriptors that define the different levels of operational forms for implementing scientifically based reading research instruction at each of the levels: state, region, site and individual classrooms. These maps can then be used in research, evaluation and assessments as well as in facilitating the change with planning, development, and implementation.
